Cynthia E. Coburn

Cynthia E. Coburn is Professor at the School of Education and Social Policy, Northwestern University. Coburn has two related lines of work: 1) the relationship between instructional policy and teachers' classroom practices in urban schools; and 2) the role of research and other forms of information in policy making about instruction. In 2011, Coburn was awarded the Early Career Award from the American Educational Research Association in recognition of her contributions to the field of educational research in the first decade of her career. In 2015, she was elected Fellow of the American Educational Research Association, honoring "exceptional contributions to and excellence in educational research." She is currently co-Principal Investigator of the National Center of Research in Policy and Practice (NCRPP), and a member of both the California Collaborative for District Reform and the DREME Network investigating coherence of early mathematics instruction. Coburn has a BA in philosophy from Oberlin College, and a MA in Sociology and a PhD in Education from Stanford University.

AChiE abre convocatoria a la comunidad de investigadores en educación a hacerse miembro.

Los miembros de AChiE pueden ser docentes, investigadores, estudiantes de postgrado y otros distinguidos profesionales con diversa experiencia en la investigación educacional, que trabajen en una variedad de entornos, como universidades y otras instituciones académicas, agencias estatales, el sistema escolar, y organizaciones sin fines de lucro.
